The Idea

I am in the research stage of a non-profit with the following focus, working with former Denver Bronco, 49er, Packer and winner of both the Rose Bowl and Super Bowl, Dave Richie, My shining once pupils (they have far surpassed me), Keith Caskey (OHSU) and Colby Loftesssnessesssses (Smarsh) and all of my current padiwans and mentors.

The Pitch:

Educating people regardless of economic, physical, geographical, social or any other barrier.  My focus, personally will be on helping pain sufferers, the LBGTQ community, ADA advocacy, wetware, Mental Illness, sustainability, air quality, and secondary education of my extended family.  I want to enable a world wide pool of resources to pay forward all that they have been lucky or blessed enough to receive in life, in every field and every vocation.  I've mentored many younger engineers and been mentored my whole career.  It's time to wrap a process, some funding, some fun and some structure around it.  Stephen Foskett coined the term "Gestalt IT", I envision "Gestalt Mentorship".  The use of technology, math, science, business, mechanical engineering et al to further the needs of underserved people.  Peering, mentoring, teaching and learning are all learning experiences.  We ALL have crap gear a younger person to our industry can use.  WE ALL did stupid shit that we don't want to see happen again.  Let's put all those letters after our names to good use, shall we?

My Motivation:

I want to give back like my heroes and colleagues and friends, Ryan Dripps, Chad Beers, Peter Kittle, Jeff Skillingstead, Don Gregory, Jennifer Huber,  Greg Ferro, Stephen Foskett, Dean Kamen, Richard Braonson and Bill Gates (my personal HEROs) on a smaller scale.  ALL work for this project will be Creative Commons or Open Source licensed, saving projects that are "prior work", which will be evaluated by that board for percentage of personal ownership and percentage of individual ownership.  All patents should be under the entity name of Intensified.  I want to use every available resource, talent, education and piece of crap gear people are about to throw out to do so.  I can't support the Boy Scouts of America because of their stance on gay scout leaders, I won't accept Intensified being used to promote any cause that seeks harm to others.   Vendor neutrality will be enforced by the guidance board, WE WILL USE THE BEST TOOL FOR THE JOB (that's what he said), we will not show unproven bias in this collective.  I would also ask that "In the names of Orv, Jackie, and Tim Strom and Donald and Patricia Gregory" be used as often as possible.  Again, open for discussion as is the entire idea.

The Call To Action:

I do hope, one day SOON, to start a FIRST chapter in Milwaukie, OR personally for my son and daughters, parents and grandparents, girlfriend and I.   This is the inspiration for this entire endeavor.

*NOTE, a C-Corp does not yet exist.  This is a test balloon.  Currently Intensified is an LLC for profit.  I am wanting to build the Non-prof if we can make it work.
